Word-Formation and its Role in the Process of Semantic Competence Formation

В фокусе проводимого исследования находятся регулярные словообразовательные модели, рассматриваемые в контексте формирования семантической компетенции как способностей, знания и готовности выразить то или иное значение c помощью разноуровневых языковых средств, в том числе и аффиксальных формантов. Овладение регулярными аффиксальными формантами рассматривается как одно из требований ФГОС и примерных программ по иностранным языкам, данные словообразовательные элементы являются предметом особого контроля в ходе текущей и итоговой аттестаций.

The research focuses on the regular word-formation models which are taken up in the scope of forming the semantic competence as an ability, knowledge and readiness to express one or another meaning on basis of split-level language tools which include affix formants. Mastering regular affixes is one of the requirements of Federal State Standard and exemplary programs of English language: these word-formation elements are a subject of special attention and control in interim and fi nal assessment. Mastering affixation patterns as a method of forming the semantic competence provides understanding of transformation which takes place in the process of derivation inside the word-formation model. Examining the different types of semantic transformations and considering them in the process of creation of methodological techniques allow for actualizing the studying process. The research of the word creation process in ontogenesis and its comparison with the process of studying the word formation models induced us to define the controlled word creation as a methodological technique used in the process of teaching the semantic competence. It is an active educational and cognitive method in mastering regular word-formation models which includes reception, combined preparation as well as a set of tasks directed to realization of derivational potential of the word-formation model in specially created conditions.
